Search to Install New Features

You can search and install new features to work with CA InterTest.

To search for new features

1. Select Help, Software Updates, Update InterTest.

   The Install window opens the Feature Updates page.

2. Select Search for new features to install and click Next.

   The Install window opens the Update sites to visit page.

3. Click the following buttons to manage the items in the Sites to include in search field.
   • New Remote Site—Adds a remote website using the New Update Site dialog. Enter a name and URL path to the website you want to add and click OK.
   • New Local Site—Adds a website on your computer or network using the Browse For Folder dialog. Locate the folder and click OK.
   • New Archived Site—Adds an archive on your computer or network using the Select Local Site Archive dialog. Locate the archived file and click OK.
   • Edit—Changes the details of a selected item, which may be an existing website or archive using the Edit dialog. Select an item from the list and click this button. The Edit dialog opens. Modify the required fields and click OK.
   • Remove—Deletes a selected website or archive from the list. When you select an item from the list and click this button, a confirm message appears. Click OK to confirm deletion.
   • Import Sites—Imports bookmarks from an XML file using the Import Sites Bookmarks dialog. Locate the Bookmarks.xml file and click OK.
   • Export Sites—Exports the bookmarks.xml to your computer or the network using the Export Sites Bookmarks dialog.

     Note: The CA InterTest Discovery Site is a default site available for use. However, you cannot edit or delete this site. Check the box if you want to include this site in your search.

4. Check the Ignore features not applicable to this environment to avoid adding features unnecessary for the existing environment.
5. Check the Automatically select mirrors to automatically view the list of mirror sites.
6. Click Finish to start the update process.

The Update Manager dialog opens showing the progress of the software update process. You can use the following three buttons to track the software update process:

• Run in background—Hides the Update Manager dialog. However, the software updates process continues to run in the background.
• Cancel—Stops the software update process and closes the Update Manager dialog.
• Details—Displays the progress of the software update process.

The newly installed features are available for use.
