Prerequisites for a Debug Session

Before starting a debug session, make sure that you perform the following tasks:

• Determine the platform in which your application runs: batch or CICS. This impacts the CA InterTest™ project type, debug session settings, required server connections, and so on.

• Obtain the mainframe CA InterTest™ PROTSYM files (data set names) that contain the symbolic files of the programs that you want to debug.

• Define servers to connect to for downloading programs for debugging.

• Configure debug session information.
