Insert a Data Set

Use the Insert Data Set dialog to insert a data set into your DSN list when creating or updating a DSN list.

Follow these steps:

1. Click Insert from the Create DSN List dialog.

   The Insert Data Set dialog displays.

2. Complete the following fields:
   • Data set name

     Specifies the name of the data set that you want to add to the DSN list.

     Note: For more information about identifying a data set, see Select a Data Set.

   • Volume serial

     Specifies the volume serial. Complete this field only if the data set is uncataloged.

3. Click OK.

   The data set is added to the Data set name table in the Create DSN List dialog.
