Add a Data Set

Add a data set to your Directory List view to work with the data set or members within the data set.

You can add any number of data sets to your view.

Follow these steps:

1. Open the Directory List view.

2. Select the server in the Directory List view to which you want to add a data set.

3. Right-click and select Add Data Set.
   The Add Data Set dialog opens.

4. Complete the following fields:

   • Data set name
     Specifies the name of the data set you want to add.

   • Volume Serial
     Enter the volume serial only if the data set is not cataloged. Otherwise, leave this field empty.

5. Click Finish.
   The data set is added to the list of data sets under the selected server. Data sets are listed in alphabetical order.
